Funeral services for Garry Strauther, 65, of Clute will be at Dixon Funeral Home, Angleton, on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Tyrone Ward officiating and Pastor Shenay White eulogizing.

He passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 at his home in Clute surrounded by his loving family.

Garry served in the United States Army where he received the Good Conduct Medal (with Bronze 2 loops), Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle), Driver and Mechanic Badge, Army Service Ribbon, Expert Badge (Hand Grenade) and Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 1). He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and L.A. Lakers, listening to music and dancing.

He leaves fond memories with his wife, Theresa Strauther, Clute; son, Garry Strauther, Jr (Helena), Pearland; daughter, Angela Strauther, Lake Jackson; brothers, Larry Strauther, Lake Jackson, Bassett Strauther, Houston; friends, Lewis Griggs, Robert Glenn, Delvin Nichols; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are Garry Strauther, Jr., Garry Strauther IV, Jacadon Sampson, Yerumiah Sampson, Larry Strauther and Bassett Strauther.

Visitation will be same day as service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
