Flem Preston

Funeral services for Flem Preston, 96, of Freeport, TX, will be Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at New Macedonia Baptist Church, 6619 Prino Rd, Hitchcock, TX, with Pastor Laban Kimble officiating.  Burial will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock.

Flem Preston was born on April 12, 1929 in LaGrange, Texas to his parents, Johnny and Flemmie Preston. He retired from Dow Chemical after 25 years as an equipment technician. He was a kind and generous man who enjoyed fishing, cheering for the Houston Astros and sharing his love of people throughout the community as he would sell watermelons. He will be remembered for his warm spirit and the kindness he showed to others.

He passed away peacefully at the Heights of League City on October 18,2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Arnezer McCoy Preston, Lectrice Brenda Lewis Preston and Armer Kimble Preston; daughter, Lura Jean Hill; brothers, John Elma Preston, Vastine Preston, Loreno Preston and Lloyd Preston; sisters, Lorretha Henderson and Lucille Jones and grandson, Rashawn Randle.

He is survived by his son, Flem Preston Jr. (Anita), Bedias, TX; daughter, Edna Christian, Galveston, TX; stepsons, Byron Collins (Verlinda), and Tyron Collins (Tammie) both of League City, TX; 5 grandchildren and a host great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Family and Friends

Visitation will be Monday, October 27,2025 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton.

Visitation will also be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the same day of service at the Church.
