"Mickey"
On November 10, 1964, a beautiful baby girl was born to Harriett D. Birdow and Elmo Birdow in Houston, Texas whom they named Eunice Michelle Birdow. She would become known to all as “Mickey.”
Mickey grew up and attended school in Angleton, Texas. She accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age. On March 15, 1986, she married Roderick Keith Toston, Sr. and they had 4 children Kevin Ray Birdow, LaTocia LeTay Birdow, Roderick Keith Toston, Jr., and Jeremy Toston.
Mickey attended Alvin Community College where she received an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She enjoyed attending all sporting events with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed collecting pictures of her family and making scrapbooks.
Mickey worked more than 20 years for AISD. She ran her own track club in Angleton, coaching some of the best talent to come out of Brazoria County. She was an AFYA Board Member, as well.
Mickey was dedicated to the youth of the community. She volunteered for many years working with children and developing their talents in many things. Anyone who knew Mickey knows she worked unconditionally in the summer with many youth developing their talent in track and field.
Mickey was preceded in death by her mother, Harriett Allen; father, Elmo Birdow; grandparents, Mitchell and Eunice Barlow; nephews, Jeffery Bonds and Lawrence Holden; cousins, Jason Hampton and Treylon Whitaker.
Mickey is survived by her husband of over 36 years Roderick Keith Toston, Sr., children, Kevin Birdow, LaTocia Evans, (Glenn Jr.), Roderick Toston Jr. (Amber), and Jeremy Toston (Dorothy). Mickey also leaves behind sisters, Sidney Joseph-Bonds (Fred), Danita Birdow, Tiffany Birdow-Taylor (Charles), Dawn Birdow, brothers, Nathan Birdow, Chad Jones, Charles Taylor; 22 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Toston, Roderick Keith Toston, Jr., Roderick Keith Toston, Sr., Norris White, Lester Williams, Glenn Evans III, Kevin Birdow, Christopher Bonds, Jared Espree and Samuel Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Royal Dixon, Deon Roy, Terry Harris, Angelo Ship, Glenn Evans, Jr. and Charles James, Jr.
