Funeral services for Ella Place, 77, of Freeport will be Friday, March 20, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton, TX. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time.  Burial will be at Gulf Coast Cemetery in Clute, TX.

She passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Creekside Village Healthcare in Clute, TX.

“MeMe”, as she was fondly called by everyone who knew her, was born and raised in Alabama.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially during the holidays.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel Knowles; son, Jerry E. Place, Jr.; daughter, Linette L. Christmas and grandson, Daniel E. Salinas.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry E. Place, Sr.; daughters, Jane E. Montez, Freeport, Brenda Clark, Clute; sons, Charles E. Place, Freeport, Keith Place, Clute; brother, Cecil Knowles; 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
