Funeral services for Ella Mayberry, 83, of Hitchcock, TX will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church, 6333 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX with Pastor William Randall, Jr. offering words of comfort. Interment to follow at Hays Grace Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock, TX.
Ella passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 in Webster, TX.
Ella was a member of Greater St Matthews Baptist Church in Hitchcock, TX. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking and going to her church services.
She was preceded in death by parents, Woodrow and Mary Lee Woodard; sisters, Lola King and Joyce Reed; brother, Woodrow N. Woodard; and son, Woodrow Mayberry.
She leaves precious memories with son, Kenneth Mayberry (Sonja) of West Columbia, TX; daughter, Marilyn Mayberry of Hitchcock, TX; sisters, M. Kathy Carter (James) of Houston, TX and Marita Hoskins of Houston, TX; brother, Myreese Woodard of Alvin, TX; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; best friends, “The Golden Girls” and many other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Deacons of Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. at Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church, 6333 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX.
