Funeral services for Elijah Nelson, 18, of Jones Creek will be Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Words of Life Outreach Ministry in Freeport with Pastor Samuel Nelson officiating.

He passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 at HCA Healthcare Mainland in Texas City, TX.

His greatest achievement was becoming a father. He loved his son dearly, loved raising his son and was an awesome father.  He liked playing video games and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Rodger D. Edgar, Sr. and Johnell Allen; great grandfathers, Jose Hernandez and Jerry Stoner; great grandmothers, Simonia Hernandez and Dollie Thomas and uncle, Rodger D. Edgar, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories; loving and devoted mother, Denise Hernandez (Quinton Higgins), Jones Creek; son, Avon Kinzel Hernandez, Jones Creek; girlfriend, Daisy Lopez, Jones Creek; grandparents, Sulema Edgar and Florence Stoner both of Angleton; great grandmother, Ruby Stoner, Clute; brothers, Kaleb Jordeen Hernandez, Jones Creek, Adam Stoner and Alex Stoner both of Angleton and Jacoby Stoner, Clute; uncle, John Edgar; good friends, Anthony Runoalds and Kaleb Hernandez;  host of other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Kaleb Hernandez, Adam Stoner, Alex Stoner, Jacoby Stoner, Anthony Runoalds and Elijah Mantelly.

Honorary pallbearers will be Quinton Higgins and John Edgar.

Visitation will be the same day of service from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Due to the COVID-19 Virus, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
