Funeral services for Edward Ray Mayo, 64, of Baytown, formerly of Opelousas, Louisiana will be Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home, 1211 S. Brooks St., Brazoria, TX with Pastor Horace Smith, officiating.  Burial will follow at Rainbow Cemetery in Sweeny, TX.

He passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at St. James House in Baytown, TX.

“Little Ray” was a welder who loved motorcycles and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Mae and Jacob Mayo, Sr.; brothers, Jacob Mayo, Jr., Samuel Mayo, Michael Wayne Mayo; sister, Linda Gail Holmes and nephew, Kevin T. Gordon.

His is survived by his sister, Irma Mayo Gordon of Sweeny, TX; uncle, Horace Smith of Opelousas, LA; 2 nieces; 1 nephew; 4 great nieces; 6 great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Jacob Mayo, III, Samuel Boatman, Desmond Johnson, Robert Butch Jones, Donald Lee and D’Allen Lee.

Visitation will be the Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
