Funeral services for Dr. Roscoe I. Campbell, III, 70, of Fresno, TX will be Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater New Prospect Baptist Church, 14020 West Richmond Street in Needville, TX with Rev. Arthur L. Edwards performing eulogy and Rev. Marcus Lincoln officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Boling, TX.
He passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Houston Methodist Hospital in Sugarland, TX.
Dr. Campbell was the beloved Pastor of Seven Star Baptist Church in Hungerford, TX. He received his doctorate of theology from Gospel Ministry Outreach Theological Institute. He was also a member of Pastors Against Crime in Wharton, TX. He served as a board member of the Curriculum Advisor Committee for Wharton ISD, Youth Curriculum Advisor for Boling ISD and Habitat For Humanity. He was also the President of the Boys and Girls Club of Wharton, TX for three years, where millions were raised for the construction of the club. Dr. Campbell also has received numerous awards for his civic involvement.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Lillie Mae Fletcher (Rev. Henry H. Fletcher); father, Roscoe Isaac Campbell, II (Eula Campbell); son, Lionell Campbell; daughter, Constance Joy Campbell; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Ashley Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Tonya Campbell; sons, Ronald Campbell, Donald Campbell (Regina), Rodney Campbell (Stacey), Carl Sanders (Tamara), Kendrick Simmons, Korrey Simmons (Ashley), Tevin Simmons; daughters, Era Campbell, Koren Campbell, Florence Goins (NiDon), Aretha Campbell (Monte), Cheryl Henderson (Dwayne); sister, Isabel Helms; brother, Apostle Robert Lynn Campbell (Gretchen); 25 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 6 godchildren; good friends, Curtis Phillips, Rev. Arthur Edwards, Rev. Vester Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Albert Helms, Jr., Rev. Marcus Campbell, Brad Higgins, Errick Williams, Rev. Andre Smith, and Rev. Jamal Sampson.
Visitation will be Friday, February 12, 2021 at Seven Star Baptist Church 7506 Hawes Street in Hungerford, TX from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Specific entering and exiting of building will be enforced.
A maximum of 200 people can attend the service.
