Donna Renee Edmonson

Donna Renee Edmonson, a vibrant spirit and devoted family member, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, 3826 Wheeler Avenue, Houston, TX, 77004, with Reverend Dr. Marcus D. Cosby officiating. Burial will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens.

Donna was a retired corporate travel agent who brought joy and warmth wherever she went. She had a love for music that lifted her spirits, a sweet tooth that found delight in The Dessert Gallery, and a fondness for crawfish and fine dining adventures. Traveling to Paris was one of her greatest joys, and she never missed a chance to share her love of dark chocolate with those around her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Emmanuel Edmonson, and her mother and stepfather, Howard and Laverne Aaron.

Donna’s memory will live on through her loving sister, Georgia  A. Thomas; brother, Father Walter Dorsey, Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kingston, Jamaica; nieces, Ashley Young (Robert), Leah Mayon, and Alexandria Thomas; great nieces , great nephews and the countless cousins and friends whose lives she touched with her laughter, generosity, and kind heart.

Active pallbearers will be Floyd Jammer, Brian Jammer, Brooklyn Hyman, Kingston Kennard, George Baugh, and Jack Caesar.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Kidney Foundation of East Texas, 2400 Augusta Drive #252, Houston, TX 77057, in honor of Donna’s spirit of giving.

Visitation will be the same day as the service from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
