Funeral services for Don Lacy, 70, of Richwood, will be Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Temple Baptist Church, 406 E Main Street, Clute, with Pastor Charles E. Jones eulogizing. Burial will follow at Angleton Cemetery in Angleton.
He passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Don was employed with Dow Chemical as a Plant Operator for 45 years and retired in 2019.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and sports (football and baseball).
Preceding him in death were his parents, Gussie and Burnice Lacy; grandparents, M. and Cornelius Brown; siblings, Fred Lacy, Sr. (Judy), Samuel Lacy, Pearl Lacy Franklin (James) and Ulysses Lacy.
He leaves cherished memories of 48 years with his loving wife, Shirley Lacy, Richwood; sons, Averett Lacy, Sr. (Jessica) and Tramaine Lacy (Brenda); brothers, Gussie Lacy, Jr. (Callie), Chicago, IL, Earl Lacy (Diane), Rosharon, TX, Jeremy Lacy (Patrick), Baton Rouge, LA, Doyle Lacy, Batchelor, LA and Charles Lacy (Donna), Clute, TX; sisters, Lydia Lacy, Richwood, TX, Janet Lacy Honore (Bobby Ray), Pearland, TX, Karen Lacy, Batchelor, LA and Sharon Lacy Carter, Clute, TX; sister-in-law, Susan Lacy, 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Alvin Samuel, Brian Lacy, DeAndre Hurst, Carlton Scott, Brandon Lacy, Jeremy Lacy, Joe Sharer and Kris Edwards.
Honorary pallbearers are family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, July 5, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1039 Wilson Road, Clute.
