Deretha Lorraine Davis

Deretha Lorraine Davis passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Country Village Care in Angleton, TX.

She was an Eastern Star and loved going to church. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Mahalia Davis; biological mother, Emma Edwards; grandparents, Meshach and Geneva Ward Edwards; brothers, Stanley Curry, Robert Edwards and Lawrence Edwards.

She is survived her sons, Isaac Mercer, Sr. (Angeletta), Houston, TX, Sylvester Mercer, Needville, TX and Franklin Heyligar, Jr., Freeport, TX; daughters, Hycintha Heyligar, Freeport, TX and Brianna Heyligar, Richwood, TX; sisters, Yolanda Tankersley, Houston, TX and Michelle Davis-Dorsey, Rosenberg, TX; brothers, Calvin Tankersley and Reginald Edwards, both of Houston; aunts, Mary Elaine Nelson and Rosiland Edwards-Lewis, both of  Freeport, TX; 21 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
