Funeral services for Delvin John Hawkins, 48, of Desoto, TX will be Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Dixon Funeral Home – Angleton with Pastor Larry Brooks, Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.
He passed away at Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Desoto, TX on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.
Delvin retired from the United States Air Force where he served as a Chief Master Sergeant. In his spare time, he enjoyed Tik Tok, grilled barbeque and ate snow cones as a sport.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Joyce Smith Hawkins; grandmothers, Darthula Hawkins and Doila Smith; grandfathers, Jonathan Hawkins, Sr. and A. C. Smith, Sr.; uncles, Jonathan Hawkins, Jr. and A. C. Smith, Jr.; aunts, JoeAnne Burse, Clara Anthony, Ester Ray Pamplin, Letha Hawkins, Carolyn Smith, Marilyn Smith and Sarah Ware.
He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Hawkins, Desoto, TX; father, Robert Hawkins, Angleton, TX; daughters, Samantha Martinez and Priscilla F. Martinez; granddaughters, Marley F. Martinez and Hailey F. Sandoval; grandson, Harvey O. Abud; brother, Kelvin M. Hawkins; best friend, Antonio Strong and a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Dr. Rollin Hawkins, Dr. Torrance Hawkins, Steven Burse, Jonathan Mitchell, Tyrell Darthard and William Davis, Jr.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton, TX.
Funeral service will be limited to 100 attendees.
Due to COVID, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
