Deacon Frank Petteway, Sr. (Pancho) Obituary
Funeral services for Deacon Frank Henry Petteway, Sr., 76, of Brazoria, TX will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Greater Mount Zion Church, 6437 FM 521, Brazoria, TX with Pastor Carl Lee Kemp officiating and Pastor K. W. Bree, Sr. eulogizing. Burial will follow at Petteway Cemetery in Cedar Lake, TX.
Frank passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
He was a faithful member and deacon of Bethlehem Christian Church. He was also a member of the Brazoria Lions Club, Educators 500, O.H. Herman Alumni and Brazoria Chamber of Commerce. He retired from The Dow Chemical Company after 29 years of dedicated service. His accomplishments include being awarded the CBISD Paraprofessional of the Year, recipient of the MLK Drum Major Award and being elected Juneteenth King.
Frank enjoyed attending rodeos, sporting events, watching TV and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer, Sr. and Eliza Petteway and two brothers, Wilmer Petteway, Jr. and John D. Petteway, Sr.
Frank leaves precious memories with his wife, Martha of Brazoria, TX; sons, Reginald A. Petteway (Sandy) and Frank H. Petteway, Jr. (Chimira); daughters, Alisa D. Petteway, Sheri R. Jones (Carl), Kimberly P. Roberts (Lee), Faith R. Petteway; sisters-in-law, Rhoda Petteway and Georgia Petteway; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Robert Petteway, Wilmer Petteway, III, Duane Woodard, John D. Petteway, Jr., Warrick Franklin and Hammie Ward, Jr.
Visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2024 at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
