DAVID HAROLD SIMMONS
A Celebration of Life for David Harold Simmons will be Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 7708 County Road 317, Brazoria, Texas 77422, with Apostle R. L. Simmons, Jr., officiating and Bishop Ricky Jones, eulogizing.
David Harold Simmons passed on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the age of 72.
He was a 1968 graduate of Sweeny High School.
Having worked for Dow Chemical in Freeport, Texas, holding the position as Senior Analytical Tech, he retired after 30 plus years of dedicated service.
In his spare time, he spent a great deal of time watching football (The Houston Texans), boxing, gardening, and listening to the blues. He was an avid car collector, especially Corvettes.
David is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary Simmons; father, David Simmons; mother, Isabella Simmons; brothers, Michael Simmons and Roland Simmons; sister, Cathy Simmons Williams; grandparents, Sherman “PaSheik” Johnson, Naomi Law Johnson, Elijah “Sun” Simmons, Sr. and Rosie Green Simmons.
He is survived by his daughter, Kindra Simmons of Richmond, TX; brother, Terry Simmons of Greensboro, SC; sister, Theresa Norris (Donald) of Lake Jackson, TX; aunts, Zelma Hice of Houston, TX, and Thelma Williams of El Paso, TX; and Phyllis Simmons of Sweeny, TX; sisters-in-law, Mary K. Houston and Artrelle “Molly” Houston of Austin, TX, and Rebecca Grate (Cornell) of Augusta, GA; nephew, David Norris; nieces, Samiara McCarthy, Cateesha Williams, Cataira Williams, Tyesha Norris, Shontice Castilow; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
