Daniel Herrera, Sr., 62, of Lake Jackson passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 16, 1961 to Marcelino Sr. and Felipa Herrera in Galveston, TX.
Daniel worked as a hydro blasting supervisor. He enjoyed anything that involved being surrounded by his family, especially his children and his grandchildren. He also enjoyed lounging at home watching wrestling, riding go carts, crabbing, collecting cars, taking the kids to the park to feed the ducks and watching his grandchildren playing sports. He was also a very devoted and dedicated person to his job.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marcelino Herrera, Sr.; paternal grandfather, Marcelino R. Herrera; paternal grandmother, Louisa Acosta; maternal grandfather, Juan Rodriguez; maternal grandmother, Susana Rodriguez.
He leaves to cherish his memories; mother, Felipa Herrera of Freeport; sons, Daniel Herrera, Jr. of Freeport, Ryan Herrera of Humble; daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” Royston (Dominick) of Lake Jackson, Cassandra Aleman, Jennifer Herrera (Lesly), both of Freeport, Krystal Herrera (Robby), Alexis Herrera both of Pasadena; brothers, Nino Herrera (Cindy) of Freeport, Alex Herrera (Delfilia) of West Columbia, Rudy Herrera of Richwood, Marcelino Herrera, Jr. of Fort Worth; best friend, Arnold Damian of Freeport; 16 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends at Dixon Funeral Home, 2025 East Mulberry, Angleton, on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rudy Lara officiating.
