Carolyn Jo Lowe Swanner Moffett, better known as MiMi, Sissy and Mom departed this place to her Heavenly Home rejoining her precious Mom and Dad, Bill and Jo Lowe and Jerry Paul Swanner on Friday, September 13, 2024 – just 2 days before her 79th birthday.
Our lives were so blessed and enriched daily by this angelic lady in so many ways. She had the heart and soul of an angel through her numerous acts of kindness rather it was a card in the mail for a special occasion, get well, thinking of you, candy when you came in the church office, a meal to an elderly person or widow, a favorite candy or flowers for no reason, a smile, a hug, an ear to listen or a readily packed bag to take a trip – MiMi was your person. The list is endless.
Mom accepted Christ at the age of 7 and has been a lifetime member of FBC Brazoria. She worked at FBC Brazoria for 32.5 years and was the first smile you saw when you walked in or the first voice you heard when you called, “First Baptist Church this is Sissy!”
Mom was not only the most loving, gracious and generous person you could meet but she had the most beautiful plants and flowers of anyone around. She spent hours every week nurturing them much like her family and friends. She enjoyed her Sunday School class, was the longest member of FBC Brazoria Passion Play – has never missed being in a performance, had a love for travel (especially Alaskan cruises), went to Israel and wanted to go back – kept her passport updated and never missed the annual family Frio trip – those kids lined up for MiMi’s snocones every year!!! But above all she loved being with her family and attending any and all events that involved her grand-girls. Those girls were the loves of her life – her pride and joy. She has traveled many miles for dance, volleyball, softball, track, cheer and basketball to sometimes only watch a 5-minute event but she didn’t mind and wouldn’t have missed it for the world! Mom was also a champion Blood Donor – latest count was that her little body has donated 10.9 gallons! All we know is that as soon as her time limit allowed, she was hunting the next donation location rather it was in her best interest or not.
Mom lived a very Godly life and instilled in all of us to follow the Lord, be kind, let go of anger and hate, pray daily, tithe and don’t focus on things of the world. In our eyes, it was hard to find fault in her and those kind of people are very hard to come by. She was full of grace, poise and charm, never wanted attention on herself but loved showering others with all she could.
She was preceded in death by her brother Billy Wayne Lowe, brother-in-law Joe Swanner and sister-in-laws, Elaine Swanner and Johnnie Lowe.
She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years Steve Moffett; favorite son, Jerry Wayne Swanner (wife Hope); daughter Susan Swanner Parker & Tammy Martin (bonus); granddaughters, Taylar JoAnn Laughlin (fiancé Bart DeGreef), Jaidyn Brooke Swanner, Jordyn Paige Swanner, and Kelly Curtis (bonus); 5 stepchildren; a multitude of step grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brian Barrett, Joey Tabor, Monty Janak, Mike Moraw, Cliff Nugent and Stephen Reed – all longtime friends and family.
Visitation will be at First Baptist Church Brazoria at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2024 with services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Chuck Beem officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mom to First Baptist Church Brazoria Missions.
Thanks to everyone who has shown us support & reached out in any way during this time for us. It is truly felt and appreciated by each one of us.
God Bless You and Continue Living Your Life with the thought of “What Would Jesus Do?” – Sissy’s comeback phrase!
Final arrangements entrusted to Dixon Funeral Home of Brazoria at (979)798-9113.
