Carmen Lopez passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021, in Houston, TX.  She was born September 5, 1948 in San Perlita, TX to Marcelino and Francisca Lopez.

Carmen was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church.  She was also was a member of Lulac and Charity Bingo.  Her greatest achievement was her family. 

She enjoyed going to garage sales, resale shops and Goodwill.  She spent time nurturing her flowers and loved to dance with the love of her life “Rafey”.

She retired from American Rice in Freeport after 35 years of service.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Marcelino and Francisca Lopez; brother, Frank Lopez; father and mother in law, Maurico and Blasa Lopez; and brother in law, Mario Lopez.

She is survived by her husband, Rafael Lopez of Clute; son, Fernando Gonzalez (Blanca) of Clute; stepson, Rafael Lopez Jr (Gracie) of Lake Jackson; daughters, Amelia Gonzalez of Houston, Candy Bernal (Jose) of Clute; stepdaughter, Sandy Trevino (Ozzie) of Houston; sisters, Bernadina McConnell (Duane) and Marcelina Maria Dreeze (Martin); brothers, Jose Manuel Lopez “Joe” (Randi), and Juan Lopez; best friend, Lali Peralez (David Garcia) of Clute), 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brazoria with Father Tin Pham officiating. Burial will follow at the Angleton Cemetery in Angleton, TX.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Bailey, Timothy Bailey, Tyler Bailey, Robert Bailey, Isaiah Lopez, Dennis Bailey, and Ralph Lopez III.

Visitation will be Monday, August 30, 2021 at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  The Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Due to the COVID-19 Virus, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
