Funeral services for Deacon Calvin John Smith, 84, of Brazoria will be Friday, May 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Old Fashion C.O.G.I.C. in Brazoria, TX. with Apostle R. L. Simmons, Jr. officiating. Ceremonial Colors are Cowboys Blue, Silver and Black. Burial will follow at Galilee Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.
He passed away on May 1, 2025 in San Antonio, TX.
He was a past member of Old Fashion C.O.G.I.C. and Galilee Baptist Church in Brazoria. He was currently attending Family Life in San Antonio, TX. He retired from Dow Chemical after many years of working as an Operator. He loved to sing, make jokes, watching Family Feud and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. His passion was carpentry. He had a gift to be able to fix anything. He was a blessing to his family and the people in his community.
He is survived by his daughter, Tamara Smith of San Antonio, TX; brother, Robert L. Smith of Brazoria; sisters-in-law, Berniece Smith of Brazoria, Patricia Lemon of Sweeny, brothers-in-law, Charles Smith (Elaine) of Huntsville and Alonzo “Stormy” Smith (Lois Faye) of Brazoria; grandchildren, K’Jhan and Tyra Willer, and grandson-in-Law Thomas-Wayne Hollis all of San Antonio; godgranddaughter, Angel Rae Tucker of San Antonio; his amazing providers of 7 years, Sarita Cazares and Roshana Lampkin, both of San Antonio; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Artorra Duplechain, KedricJammer, Michael Willer, Craig Woods, Marvin Jones and Darren Woodard.
The honorary Pallbearers are Dale Lemon, Devin Lemon, Robert Smith Jr, Chris Smith, Durrell Lemon, Thomas Wayne Hollis, Tre Lemon, Ronald Woodard, Michael Smith, Jon Smith, and Tre Lemon.
Visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
