Funeral services for Billy Ray Pierce Sr., 77, of Angleton will be Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Mount Zion Church in Brazoria, TX with Rev. G. R. Holland officiating and Rev. L. C. Dews eulogizing. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.

He passed away at his home in Angleton, TX on Sunday, October 4, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

During his lifetime, Billy enjoyed reading, fishing, playing dominoes, singing, and spending time with relatives and friends.  He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Brazoria, where he served as a Deacon, Treasurer, Men’s Adult Sunday School teacher, Member of the Mass Choir, Men’s Chorus and a previous Youth Sponsor.  He was also a member of the Lanier Wildcat Social Club.

Billy worked as an operator for many years and retired from Dow Chemical.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Pierce; mother, Emma Johnson; sister, Faith Evans and great granddaughter, Mirraya Pierce.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Mary Ann Pierce, Angleton, TX; sons, Billy Ray Pierce Jr. (Temecka) of Angleton, TX, Bobby Pierce (Cassie) of Houston, TX, Vannon Chatman of Dallas, TX, Steven Chatman (Joi) of Cypress, TX; daughters, Edna White of Freeport, TX, India Pierce of Sweeny, TX; brother, Adolphus Evans (Denene) of Houston, TX; good friends, Tim Matthews, Percy Walker and Walter Daniels Jefferson,14 grandchildren; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Adrian Buckner, Joe L. Buckner, Joel Hawkins, Clifton Williams Jr., Deacon Robert Williams and Cedric Woodard.

Visitation will be Friday, October 9, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton.
