Betty Darlene (Plumlee) George

Betty George, 89, of Lake Jackson, TX went to be with her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, on March 28, 2024 in Lake Jackson, TX. She was born on April 8, 1934 to her parents S.B. and Willa Plumlee in Roscoe, TX.

Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Brazoria, and she enjoyed time with her friends in TNT (senior adults) and the activities they were involved in. She loved to paint, garden, fish, and sew. She retired from Brazosport ISD after years of dedicated service in the cafeteria. Betty graduated as Valedictorian of Ira high school’s class of 1952.

Betty is reunited with her loving husband, Shurman George; parents, S.B. and Willa Plumlee; son, Larry King; step-son, Ronnie George and nephew, Phillip Plumlee.

Betty leaves cherished memories with her daughter, Becky Vernor (Gary) of Brazoria; daughter-in-law, Sandy King of Freeport; step-son, Mike George (Brittney) of Humble; brother, Glen Donald Plumlee (Wanda) of Haskell, OK; grandchildren, Shelby Vernor, Cindy Vernor, Ronda Peeler, Tim King, Josh George, Travis George, Zach George, Jake George and six great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Monday, April 1, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Brazoria with Pastor Greg Smith officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until service starts. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Steve Broadway, Chuck Conant, Gary Karl, Kelly Langham, Joe Odom, and Darrell Varner.
