Funeral Services for Bernice Norris, 99, of Freeport will be Monday, November 23, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Dixon Funeral Home, 2025 E. Mulberry Street, Angleton, TX with Pastor Donnell Johnson officiating and Pastor David Rougeau eulogizing.  Burial will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland, TX.

She passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at CHI St. Luke's Health - Brazosport Hospital - Lake Jackson, TX.

Mrs. Bernice was a member of First United Missionary Baptist Church in Freeport and loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Norris; daughter, Joyce Cockfield; mother, Lila Lewis; dad, Bennie Huntsman; brother, Willie Lee Harrell and granddaughter, Jackie Bates-Walker.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Norris (Rosalind), Willie B. Norris, Jeremiah Norris (Dorland), Donald Norris (Theresa) and Kevin Norris (Diane); daughters, Shirley Barton, Eric Bates (Tim), Linda Kay Simmons (Reggie), Carol Norris and Nikita Powell (Herman III), Goddaughter, Darlene Goins (Richard), best friends, Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Strambler; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be David Daniels, Roland Burton Sr., Jimmy Burton Sr., Jimmy Burton Jr., Jon Baker and Jarvis Davis.

Visitation will be Monday, November 23, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton.

Funeral Services will be private and limited to family, church members and close friends.

Due to the COVID-19 Virus, everyone must wear a mask, will have their temperature checked and practice social distancing.
