Audrey Ann Barclay

Audrey Ann Barclay, 87, of Sweeny passed away on August 30, 2023 in Sweeny, TX.  She was born on December 31, 1935 in Houston, TX to Hubert and Lucile Jordan Poole.

She was a Librarian at Sweeny Elementary for over 26 years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and serving her church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.C. Barclay; brothers, Jack and Jimmy Poole; sister, Vera Daly O’Brien; son-in-law, Blaine Slaughter.

She is survived by her daughters, Janet Slaughter of Sweeny, Denise McKay (Mark) of League City and Karen Hester (David) of Owasso, OK; treasured family friend and caretaker, Tamika Stevens; 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
