Angela Martinez

Angela Martinez, 63, of West Columbia, TX passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 in Galveston, TX.  She was born June 1, 1961 to Eladio Chavez and Sofia Villanueva.

Angela was an all-around homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, baking and gardening.  She also spent time listening to music, watching humanity videos and helping people.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eladio Chavez; brother, Odilon Chavez; niece, Rosa Chavez and nephew, Fidelmar Chavez.

Angela leaves precious memories with her mother, Sofia Villanueva, Mexico; husband, Marcelino Martinez, West Columbia; sons, Juan Pablo Martinez and Marco Antonio Martinez, both of West Columbia; daughter, Luz Maria Martinez, West Columbia; sisters, Cirila Chavez (Cirilo Covarrubias), Amelia Chavez (Abel Reynoso), Irene Chavez, all of Mexico; brothers, Martin and Rodrigo Chavez, both of Mexico; friends, Irma Covarrubias (Genaro), West Columbia, Natalia Ocampo, Florida and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church in West Columbia on Friday, February 7, 2025.  The funeral mass will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Father Preston Quintela officiating.  Burial will follow at Columbia Cemetery in West Columbia.

Pallbearers will be Genaro Covarrubias, Roberto Covarrubias, Eddie Mendoza, Juan Martinez, Tito Covarrubias and Gabino Hernandez.
