Andrew C. Lundy was born on September 12, 1938, in Chenango, Texas to the late Roberta Beasley and Aaron Lundy.
Andrew attended Marshall High School in Angleton, Texas and later worked as a heavy equipment operator. He served Brazoria County for 25 years before continuing his career with the City of Clute, where he worked another 13 years before fully retiring.
Known affectionately as “Boy Blue,” Andrew was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan who loved hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, and with his family.
He was a happy and cheerful person who truly enjoyed life, always smiling and sharing his warmth and humor with those around him. He had a way of brightening the room with his good nature, leaving fond memories with all who knew him.
Andrew was called home to rest on August 28, 2025.
He was preceded in death by Parents, Roberta Beasley and Aaron Lundy; Grandmother, Susie Stoner; Grandfather, William Johnson; Sister, Linda Beasley;Nephew, Robert Wayne Jackson, and Stepson, Craig Mathews.
Boy Blue is survived by his Son, Andrew Mathews (Heidi) of Houston; Daughters, Shirlene Carroll of Lake Jackson and Vera Mae Banks of Houston; Sisters, Vera Jean Jackson Harris of Angleton and Debra A. Kemp Smith (Tommy) of Houston; Nieces, Lisa Sumuel, Kay Carethers, and Chelsea Walton; Nephews, Kevin Jackson, Frederick Wilson Jr., and Charles Washington Jr.; seven Grandchildren, nine Great-Grandchildren, and Lifelong Partner, Laura Mathews, as well as many other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was blessed with the love and companionship of many dear cousins, including Aaron Lundy, John L. Lundy, Jessie Mae Lundy, Jessie Bradshaw Sr., and Deacon David Dudley, along with many others who held a special place in his heart.
He also leaves cherished memories with Rev. AC Foston, Charles Carethers, and many more longtime friends.
