Memorial service for Andray Trashawn Brown, 31, of Angleton, Texas, will be Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at New Fellowship Tabernacle Church, 600 Matthews Street, Bay City, Texas, with Pastor Andrew H. Floyd officiating and Pastor Tony R. Griggs eulogizing. Repast will follow at the Eagles Hall, 2100 Eagles Road, Bay City, Texas.
Andray was born October 29, 1992 in Galveston, Texas. He was a “miracle” preemie baby who was the oldest to Rondray and Tracy Brown.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lake where he became a member and served as a youth usher and participated in the Sunday School. Later in life, he united with the Greater Faith Community Church in Bay City.
Andray participated in many activities which included playing sports starting at the age of 4. He was crowned King of his Head Start school in San Antonio. Upon participating in the Lil Mr. & Miss Pageant in Lake Jackson, he received 2nd place. He was a member of the All-Star Team in Pee Wee basketball and baseball, Boys Scouts of America and the Super Bowl Championship Team for the Sweeny Junior Pee Wee League.
He was a 2011 graduate of Van Vleck High School. He played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. He was named All District Receiver and Cornerback and was a member of the 4x100 Leopards’ relay track team which he ran 3rd leg to take 2nd in State. During high school, he was also a member of Future Farmers of America (FFA).
After graduation, Andray attended the Art Institute of Austin for Web Design and later transferred to Texas A & M Kingsville and studied Architect Engineering and played intramural football.
He worked for Dr. Pepper and Budweiser distributors as a commercial driver and later embarked upon a new career path as a licensed scaffolder builder at various plants.
Andray’s hobbies included video games, playing and watching sports, barbecuing, watching his children play sports and spending quality time entertaining family and friends. On April 19, 2024, Andray was declared a brain cancer survivor. He continued to live his life as a positive role model for his children, brother, family, friends and coworkers.
Andray transitioned to his heavenly home on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Tommie and Katie Abbott, Charles Mangum, Pearl Mangum, Howard Fisher and Charles L. Thomas; uncles, Michael Abbott and Gary Fisher and aunt, Norma Abbott; nephew, Justin Vasquez.
Andray leaves precious memories with his wife, Mary Brown; sons, Legend and Adonis Brown; daughters, Kylie Brown, Nova and Brinley Brown; parents, Rondray and Tracy Brown; brothers, Kylon Brown (Paytin), Draylon Brown (Angiolina) and Anthony Brown; sister, Katelyn Brown; God siblings, Justin Stanford (Rosa) and Brittany Houston (Steve); cousin like a brother, Leslie Glass Thomas; grandmothers, Ola Mae Fisher and Sheryl Mangum; great grandmother, Cleopatra Thomas; special aunts, Cleoester Armstrong (Rocky), Katie Abbott, Andrea Thomas (Ishmeil), Kercheva Williams (Deonte), Trenna Williams, Alice Franks (Clem), Lydia Dailey, Lucy Tyson, Catherine Garrett (Victor), Rosalind Waddy (Raymond), Viola Thompson, Jamesse Kesee, Sandra Bickham (Paul), Dorothy Darthard (Terry), Marcietta Moore (Elliott), Cynthia Brown, Tanzie Brown, Vonda Johnson and Deborah Silva; uncles, Darnell Abbott (Sharon), Tommie Abbott, David Abbott (Cynthia), Aaron Williams (Tenecha), Josh Williams, Steve Fisher (Ann), Kevin Mangum and Margwyn Miller, Charles R. Thomas (Collette); special friends, Sonya Vasquez and Kathryn Worden and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and coworkers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kylon Brown, Draylon Brown, Anthony Brown, Justin Stanford, Leslie Glass Thomas, Corbin Dailey, John Cebellos, Noel Gonzalez, Daniel Cruz, Terrence Alliniece, Zachary Green, Torrian Miller, Trenton Lohmann and Trey Franco.
