Alice Jones Moore
Funeral services for Alice Jones Moore, 82, of Brazoria will be Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Church in Brazoria, TX with Elder Roland Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow at Mims Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.
She passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at CHI St. Luke Health Brazosport in Lake Jackson, TX.
She was a long time member of Zion Temple A.M.E Church. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her cattle every day. When she wasn’t outdoors, you could find her singing songs of praise or spending time with family and friends.
Alice was a proud member of the Martin Luther King Celebration Committee (MLKCC) and the Zion Temple A.M.E Choir for many years!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eichlitz “IJ” Jones and Martha Gee Jones; brother-in-law, Willie Sanders.
She leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories; husband, Joseph “Sonny” Moore, Sr. of Brazoria; sons, Jarvis Jones of Brazoria, Jeffrey Clark (Joyce) of Sweeny, Nate Moore, Sr. of Lake Jackson and Joseph Moore Jr. of Brazoria; daughters, Demetria Jones and Angie Johnson of Brazoria; sisters, Lottie Sanders of Brazoria and Bobbie Darthard of Freeport; uncle, Henry Jones, Freeport; nieces, Deltry Epps (Gary) of Brazoria, LaSandra Sanders of DeSoto; great nephews, Delwin Johnican of Fresno, and Garrett Epps of Brazoria; great niece, Letra Johnican of Houston; 2 grandchildren, Courtney Times (Nicole) and Jeanna Clark; 2 great grandchildren, Anaya Times and Jordyn Clark; godson, Mason Gaston; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Carl Fields, Troy Davidson, Cuney Woodard, Jr., Pendleton Johnson, Bruce Higgins and Aaron Jones, Jr.
Visitation will be Monday, December 21, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.
Due to the COVID-19 Virus, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
