Ah’mya Sparrow departed this life from us at 19 years old, but the undeniable mark she left on the world will continue to shine brightly in the hearts and minds of all who were blessed to know her. She was born on June 13, 2005 in Houston, TX.
Ah’mya possessed a vibrant, captivating spirit that drew people to her like a moth to a flame. Her infectious laugh could instantly lift the mood of any room and her kind, compassionate nature compelled her to always look out for the underdog. She had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel seen, heard and valued.
Whether she was showcasing her impressive vocal talents by belting out her favorite songs or meticulously crafting eye-catching makeup looks that accentuated her natural beauty, Ah’mya relished every opportunity to be the center of attention – not out of vanity, but because of her genuine love of life and desire to spread joy.
Although her time on this earth was brief, the legacy of Ah’mya’s bright spirit and unwavering loyalty to her loved ones will endure. Those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with this remarkable young woman will carry her memory with them, ensuring that her light continues to shine on even in her absence.
Ah’mya is preceded in death by her great grandmother, Mary Alice Brown; great grandfather, James Sparrow and great aunt, Vera “Ann” Rainer.
She leaves precious memories with her mother, Brittani Sparrow; father, Marcus Holmes; bonus dad, Sona Tanyingu; brothers, Daiveon Tanyingu, Tyre Cheeves, Lamark Hutchinson, Marcus Holmes, Jr.; sister, Starr Rugeley; grandparents, Allison Sparrow (Nana), Daisy Holmes and Kennith Edwards (PawPaw); aunts, Eboni Edwards (David Flores), Chloe Edwards, Debra Christian; uncles, Jordyn Smith, Christopher Simmons (Joanna Guerrero), Bryson Edwards and a host of cousins and friends that adored her like family.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 3:00 p.m.
