Agustin Ramirez Benavides

Agustin Ramirez Benavides, 58, of Brazoria passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and is now in Heaven. He is completely healed from GI cancer. He was born on September 11, 1962 in Miguel Aleman, Mexico to Reynaldo and Adamina Benavidez.

He was an innovator, gardener, traveler, fisherman, and baseball fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved his family with his whole heart and spent his life making sure they knew they were always provided for. Agustin was a very good man and lives on in our hearts forever.

He leaves to cherish his memories; loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Sherrie Lynn Finley Benavides of Brazoria; children, Candice Sisk and husband John of Salem, Alabama, Brian “B.J.” Benavides and wife Katy and Erica and Robert Smith both of Sweeny; grandchildren, Hannah and Harley Stanley, Hunter and Halston Adams, Phelan Sisk, Jordan, Blake and Jaelyn Benavides, Katelynn Landriault and Sloan Smith; great grandchild, Ne’Avah Stanley; brothers, Lupe Benavides and wife Linda, Rey Benavides and wife Dora both of Angleton, Joel Benavides, West Columbia and Robert Benavides and wife Terrie of Brazoria; sisters, Mina Rivera and husband Lojo of Angleton, Mari Perez and husband Telmo of Freeport, Martha Simons and husband Carl of Fredericksburg and Silvia Rodriguez and husband Juan of West Columbia; brother-in-law, Eddie (Kerry Finley) of Brazoria; father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Joyce Finley of Brazoria; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Reynaldo and Adamina Benavidez; brother, Reynaldo “Juerito” Benavidez and best friend, James Markum.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Jordan Benavides, Blake Benavides, Harley Stanley, Hunter Adams and Halston Adams; son-in-laws, Robert Smith and SSG John A. Sisk, II, United States Army.

Honorary pallbearers will be MAJ Juan “Chop” H. Rodriguez, III United States Marine Corp, 1SG Lucas A. Rodriguez, United States Marine Corp, Denny Upham, Mark Worry, Brent Harrell, Charlie Johnston, Brian Tupa, Jacob “Mane” Tolbert and Co-Workers of Tarsco Construction Corporation.  

Visitation will be Monday, May 3, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Brazoria First Assembly of God Church in Brazoria. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Andrew Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery in Brazoria, Texas.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Shriners Burn Hospital, 815 Market St., Galveston, TX 77550 or St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
