Funeral services for Viola Gertrude Edison Fletcher, 90 of Brazoria will be Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Brazoria with Pastor Louis Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Brazoria, Texas.
She passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Creekside Village Healthcare in Richwood, Texas.
She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and senior mission until her health failed. She loved cooking, sewing and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Fletcher; son, Henry Fletcher; daughters, Ellen Fletcher Simmons and Margaret Fletcher Hudgins; parents, Louis and Arilla Edison; grandsons, Peter Lavallias, Jr. and Henry L. Washington, Jr.; brothers, Roy Boulden, Lawrence Edison, Alphonso Hawkins and Travis Edison; sisters, Hattie Gee and Jessie Lee Williams.
She leaves to cherish her loving and precious members; daughters, Willie Mae Fletcher Washington and Katherine Fletcher Mack both of Brazoria, Katy Fletcher Thompson of Lake Jackson and Lois Fletcher Williams-Anderson (Eddy) of Pearland; 9 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren; 30 great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Thompson, Troy Thompson, Randy Reado, Jason Washington, Derrick Woodard and Tracy Higgins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Higgins, Sr., Eddy Anderson, Elmer Hawkins, Bro. George McKnight, Kevin Lavallias, Harry Roberts, Anthony Lavallias, Willie Boulden, Milton Boulden, Charles Davis, Brendon Reado, Roy Boulden, Jr., Jerry Higgins, Jr., Anthony Fletcher and Justin Davis.
Visitation will be Friday, September 27, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.
