Timothy Higgins, Jr.

“T.H.”

Funeral services for Timothy Higgins, Jr., 85, of Brazoria will be Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Brazoria with Moderator Dr. L.C. Dews officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.

He passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Atrium Medical Center in Stafford, TX.

He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where he was a deacon and trustee and served on the usher board. He was a member of Labor Local 154.  During his tenure he worked at Jefferson Lake Sulfur Company, Brazoria County Courthouse, Longshoreman and Laborer. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting and ranching. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Dea. Timothy Higgins, Sr. “Timp” and Mary  Higgins; wife, Susie Mae Higgins; daughter, Min. Clara Mae Higgins Smith; son-in-law, Prophet Bruce W. Smith, Sr.; brother, Dea.Perry Higgins, Sr.; sister-in-law, Anna Higgins and nephews, Dea. Perry Higgins, Jr. and Robert L. Alexander.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories; sons, Rev. James E. Higgins (Helen “B.J.”), Brazoria and Dr. Tim Higgins, III (Mona), Lake Jackson; brother, Dea. Napoleon Higgins, Sr. (Dr. Mary Alice), Houston; sister, Carrie Bell Rittenhouse, LaMarque; best friends, Evelyn Austin, Cedar Lane, Alec Wright, Sweeny and Billie Keys (Catherine), Angleton; 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, host of great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Dr. Napoleon Higgins, Jr., Johnnie Higgins, Steven Higgins, Gus Williams, Larry Mack, Woody Smith, Dea. Troy Wright and Craig Brooks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Bishop Edmond Baker, Sr., Babe Alston, Dea. Napoleon Higgins, Sr., Johnnie Higgins, Sr., Elgin Woodard, Sr., Dr. Napoleon Higgins, Bruce Wayne Smith, Jr., Bo McGowan, Richard Collins and Rashad White.

Visitation will be Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.
