Santos Rodriguez

Santos Rodriguez was born on June 2, 1931 in El Juahio, Texas to Hipolito and Romanita Rodriguez. He passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 at CHI St. Luke Health Brazosport in Lake Jackson, Texas.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a rancher and loved calf roping, riding horses, working with leather, socializing with his friends, visiting the Cowboy Church and singing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Luisa Garcia-Rodriguez; parents, Hipolito and Romanita Rodriguez and son, Javier Rodriguez, Sr.; brother, Elugio Rodriguez and sister, Maria Rodriguez.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories; son, Hipolito “Paul” Rodriguez and wife Renee Bryant Rodriguez of Brazoria; daughters, Annabelle Rodriguez Ozuna of Brazoria. Olaya Rodriguez Perez and husband Albert and Cynthia Rodriguez Mata and husband Hipolito “Paul” Mata of Lake Jackson; grandchildren, Jonathan Ozuna, Jessica Meja, Jason Rodriguez, Jamie Corona, Jodie Slade, Jennifer Rodriguez, Levi Mata, Lucas Mata, Javier Rodriguez, Jr., Collins Rodriguez and Christina Longoria, host of great and great great grandchildren; best friends, Ricardo and Ramona Saenz of Alice, Texas, Rocky Lewis and Mike Diaz of Premont, Texas, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Ozuna, Jason Rodriguez, Levi Mata, Lucas Mata, Javier Rodriguez, Jr., Joshua Richard Rodriguez, Noah Ozuna and Collins Rodriguez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hipolito “Paul” Rodriguez, Joseph Ozuna and Robert “Hots” Howard.

Family will receive friends for viewing and rosary on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 10:00  a.m. to11:00 a.m. at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 107 North Lazy Lane, Clute, TX 77531. Service will start at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jim Lynes officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia Cemetery in West Columbia, Texas.

Special thanks to Paul Mata for the two years of helping in the home care of our beloved father, Martha Bella and Veosa Jammer at Creekside Village Nursing Home and Father Jim for visiting him at the nursing home.
