Samie (Mucker) Franklin

Funeral services for Samie Mucker Franklin, 88, of Houston, formerly of Chenango will be Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Bibleway Outreach Church, 201 E. Miller in Angleton, TX with Pastor Timothy Hicks, officiating.  Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Chenango, TX.

She passed away, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston, TX.

Samie enjoyed bible study, attending church services and playing bingo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and Elijah Mucker, Sr.; husband, Russell Franklin; granddaughters, Tracey Darnetta Roberson and Evelyn Latrece Roberson; children by marriage, Doris Burton and Sidney Franklin; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.B. and Johnnie Lucille Mucker, Elijah Jr. and Velma Ree Mucker, Alvin Sr. and Alice Marie Mucker Eskridge.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rosie and Emmett Roberson of Houston; granddaughter, Rolinda Roberson Adams and husband Michael A. Adams, great-grandsons, Allyn and Christion Adams, step great-grandson, Michael P. Adams all of League City; grandson, Dr. Eric Roberson and wife Paulette Frenchwood Roberson, great grandson Eric Roberson Jr. and great granddaughter Amber Roberson all of  Dickinson; step great-grandson Lonnie Bean of Austin; step great-granddaughter, NyKisha Owens, step great-great-grandchildren, Traylon and Kendall Owens and James Collins all of League City; cousin, Marjorie Jonkins of Houston; friend and roommate, Vieola Wright of Houston, with a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Michael A. Adams, Dr. Eric Roberson, Russell “Zip” Franklin, Eric Roberson Jr., Howard Mucker and Kent Washington.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eugene Mucker, Marjorie Jonkins, Phillip Jackson, Emmett Roberson, Vieola Wright and Jerry Stoner.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.  There will be no viewing afterward.
