Funeral Services for Robert Lee Griggs, 52, of Manvel will be Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Church, 6437 FM 521, Brazoria, TX with Pastor T.L. Richardson presiding and Pastor Ondra Waddy officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Christian Cemetery in Cedar Lake, TX.

He passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Harbor Hospice in Houston, TX.

Coach Griggs was a member of First United Missionary Baptist Church in Freeport, TX.  He was a coach for many years and trained athletes in basketball and football. He was a positive role model who touched many lives.

He is preceded in death by his father, Clyde Grice; sister, Willie Mack; Grandparents, Rosalie and Eddie Griggs, Ella and Eddie Grice; uncle, Jimmy Grice and aunt, Mary Moreno.

He is survived by his wife, Trisha Griggs, Manvel; mother, Viola Grice, Bay City; sons, Demetrius “D.J.” Griggs, Ty Griggs, Bryce Griggs, all of Manvel; sisters, Elanda “Gale” Griggs, Ywanda “Dale” Griggs, both of Bay City, Audra Higgins (Gary), Brazoria; father-In-Law & mother-In-Law, Milton and  Pourchia Cockrell, Lake Jackson; grandson, Dallas Griggs and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Terry Blackmon, John Mouton, Michael Billingsley, Gary Woodard, Wayland Griggs, Alvin Stredic, Jarmen Hawkins, Darrell Harris, Calvin Ward and David Preston, Jr.

Visitation will be Friday, May 25, 2018 at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. with a wake from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.  There will be viewing at Greater Mt. Zion Church on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. There will be no viewing afterwards.
