Funeral services for Raymond Bradley Williams, 75, of Lake Jackson will be Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Life Foursquare Church, 501 Karankawa St., Angleton, TX with Pastor Booker T. Randon officiating. He was laid to rest at Angleton Cemetery in Angleton, TX.
He passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Chi St. Luke Health Brazosport in Lake Jackson.
He was the first African American in 1965 to work as a meat cutter in Kroger’s Stores and retired from Kroger’s after 35 years of service. Ray was an entrepreneur and a fun loving person who loved being around people. He was the proud owner of Ray’s Food King, Ray’s Smoke Meats and “This is it” Club. He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Brazoria, TX.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Rosa Williams, Lake Jackson; mother, Lucinda Williams Mills, Angleton; sons, Kelvin Williams (Charlotte Skinner), Angleton, Raymond Williams, Jr., Houston, TX; daughters, Carol Williams Foley, Manvel, Audrey Williams Gentry, Houston; step daughters, Ashley Smith (Aaron), Angela Cavazos (Felix), both of Lake Jackson; sisters, Gladys Miles, Wanda Mills, Karen Herrera (Bennett), all of Angleton, Joyce Williams, Austin, TX; brothers, Clennon Mills, Angleton, Carl Mills (Kathy), Manvel, Bobby Williams (Mary), Houston, TX; 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Leonard J. Henderson, Michael Hall, Zakorrien Williams, Eric Miles, Dray Lewis and Trenton Harris.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton.
