Funeral services for Mary Francis Myers, 77, of Freeport will be Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lake with Bishop Ricky Jones, Sr. officiating and Bishop Roderick Johnson eulogizing. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cedar Lake, TX.
Well-rounded in all she did, Mary was a jack-of-all trades. In school, she was a drum major in Van Vleck ISD. In her career, she was a plant janitor and chef, but also was an entrepreneur- owning a lucrative disco in Freeport. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid bingo player.
Mary confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. While living in the Matagorda community, she attended Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lake, Texas. Later in life, she became a member of Living Word Fellowship Christian Center in Brazoria, Texas, where her son-in-law serves as pastor.
Her earthly journey ended on Monday, November 4, 2019, in Lake Jackson, Texas.
She leaves to mourn her passing her partner in life, Johnnie Frank Thomas; daughter, Jana Marie Jones (Ricky); grandchildren, Richelle N. Jones, Rickeisha Vigoya (Victor); Ricky Jones, Jr. (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Jones, Victor Carter Vigoya, and Victoria Vigoya; brothers, James Woodard (Gloria) and Cornelius Woodard (Kay); sisters, Emma Means and Margaret Woodard; nieces; Alexus Rhone, Erika Johnson (Roderick) and Sokatrina Woodard; nephews, Michael Means (Evangeline) and Eric Woodard (Lynell); great-nieces, Destiny Johnson, Symone Johnson, Nyla Means and Rhylee Woodard; great-nephews, Michael Means, Jr. and Dredan Woodard; goddaughter, Edna; god sister, Sharon Bivens; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Ricky Jones, Jr., Rodney Jones, Victor Vigoya, Eric Woodard and Johnathan Strickland.
Visitation will be Friday, November 15, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria. There will be viewing at the church on the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. until service time. There will be no viewing afterward.
