James Vincent Johnson "J.J."

Funeral services for James Johnson, 53, of Clute will be Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at True Honor Baptist Church in Clute with Rev. Eric Gooden officiating and Rev. Ray Bonner eulogist.   Burial will follow at Gulf Coast Cemetery in Clute, TX.

 He passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, TX.

 He loved to dance, riding around with his brother and playing dominoes. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

 He was preceded in death by his fathers, Robert Woodard and Larry Johnson, Sr.; grandfathers, Arthur Lunford and Charles Johnson; grandmothers, Florida Mae Lunford, Rubye L. Givens and Beatrice Woodard and sister, Jorhonda Johnson.

 He leaves to cherish his loving memories; loving and devoted mother, Elizabeth Johnson, Clute; sons, Da’Mon Johnson, West Columbia and DaVonte Johnson, Houston; brothers, Dexter Fernil (Delena), Clute, Larry Johnson, Jr., Florida, Previn White and Kevin Jones both of Freeport and Michael Tolbert, Bastrop, 2 grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

 Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria. There will be viewing at the church on the day of the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be no viewing afterward.

 Active pallbearers will be Christopher Lunford, Jermaine Lunford, Frank Fuller, Troy Hanks, Sedrick Hanks, Kirkland Lunford, Jamal Lunford and Tim Richo.
