Don Ray Davis

Funeral service for Don Ray Davis, 77, of West Columbia will be Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Greater Mount Zion Church in Brazoria with Rev. K.B. McDonald officiating. Burial will be Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11:15 a.m. with military honors at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX.

He passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Houston Hospice in Houston, TX.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and tending to his cattle. He graduated from Charlie Brown High School in the Class of 1958. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Dow Chemical Company as a machinist.

He was preceded in death by his father; George Davis, Sr.; wife; Ruth “Baby Ruth” Randon Davis; brother, Elmo Davis and brother-in-law, Larry Randon.

He leaves to cherish his memories; mother, Walterine Davis, Brazoria; daughter, Carol Randon (special friend, Benjamin Scott III), Brazoria; brothers, William Davis, Sr. (Gertie) and George Davis, Jr. (Hattie) both of Brazoria and Cecil Davis (Faye), Missouri City; sisters, Ruby Lee Davis, Brazoria, Lillie Mae Jean and Beryl Davis both of Houston; granddaughter, LaToya Mayberry (Kendrick), Angleton; uncle, Frank Fields (Norma Jean), Brazoria; sisters-in-law, Velda Randon, Lake Jackson, Brenda Randon, Brazoria, Kolanda Daniels (Freddie II), Sugarland and Evelyn Davis, Houston; brothers-in-law, Clifford Randon, Sr. (Patricia) and Mardern Randon both of Brazoria; great grandchildren, Skylar Thomas, Clarence Thomas IV and Ketoryn Mayberry all of Angleton; special nieces, Vonetta Broussard, Angleton and Valecia Broussard, Pearland; special great nephew, Micah Whitehead;  good friends, Arthur Clark, Brazoria and Isaac Mickens, Hearne, TX, host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, November 17, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria. There will be viewing at the church on the day of the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will be no viewing afterward.

Active pallbearers will be Benjamin Scott III, Armond Davis, Charles Davis, DeAndre Simple, William Davis, Jr. and Marcus Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Corwin Davis, Sr., Roderick Davis, Michael Davis, Corwin Davis, Jr., Nicholas Davis, Justin Davis, Quincy Davis, Brad Jean, Bryon Jean and Dexter Davis.
