David Lee Coslett "Dave"

David Lee Coslett, 88, of Lake Jackson passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Elmcroft Assisted Living of Lake Jackson. He was born on February 3, 1930 in Rockford, Illinois to Stanley Coslett and Blanche Marie Cunningham Harwell.

He was an Elder at Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He was President of the Chamber of Commerce of Lake Jackson, Executive Director of Hospice, President of Texas Safety Association from 1980 - 1982. He received an Official Commendation from Governor William P. Clements for Running and Vice-Chairman Task Force Traffic Safety from 1981-1982.  He was a season ticket holder for Aggies games. He loved square dancing and built television sets from scratch. He served in the United States Air Force. He retired after many years of service at Dow Chemical in the gov’t relations department.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Joyce Bowden Coslett; father, Stanley Eugene Coslett; mother, Blanche Marie Cunningham Harwell; brothers, James S. Coslett, Joseph Roger Coslett and Patrick Michael Cloonan.

He leaves behind, to cherish his memories, all the dedicated caregivers who loved him over the years, especially Renne Bryant and Jennifer Jack of Brazoria. He also leaves behind his son, Michael Coslett of Lake Jackson; daughter, Teresa Kay Burleson and husband Dempsey of Coolidge, TX; sister, Colleen Pattee of Laurel, MD; grandchildren, Destiny Leahy and husband Mike of Clarksburg, Maryland, Merlyn Coslett of Dripping Springs, TX, Samuel Burleson and Gloria Burleson both of Coolidge, TX, 5 great grandchildren; good friends, Harry Janke of Lake Jackson and Steve Stoops of Houston, other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be Friday, December 14, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria with Elder Don Williams officiating.

Family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until service time.

Reception will be at the American Legion Hall in Brazoria following memorial service.
