Pastor Dale Wayne Frankum

Pastor Dale Wayne Frankum, 57, of Brazoria entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born November 27, 1959 in Angleton, Texas to Bobby and Wanda Frankum.

From an early age, he was passionate about playing baseball. He played baseball with Brazoria Little League, Columbia High School and Evangel University. He was inducted into the Evangel University Baseball Hall of Fame.

He was an avid fisherman, and went as often as he could. He had no shortage of fishing stories and pictures to share with any available audience.

He was active in his community, serving on the CBISD Education Foundation, serving as chaplain for the CBISD high school football team and serving as the chaplain for Sweeny high school baseball team.

He was most passionate about spreading the good news about Jesus. Serving as the volunteer youth pastor from his college days eventually led to being the senior pastor at Brazoria First Assembly. During his tenure he produced 24 patriotic events in the city of Brazoria known as Celebrate America. He routinely served in the church's food pantry. These two endeavors represent part of his vision for the church- spreading the good news in a big way while also serving individuals in their most basic needs. The heartbeat of his ministry was encouraging his congregation and community to discover their identity in Christ and to serve Him with passion and excellence. He firmly believed that each person is a uniquely created by God with skills, traits and talents meant to be developed to the highest possible level and used to serve God's kingdom.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Esther Frankum and brothers-in-law, Gary Day and Gary Rhodes.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 37 years, Gladys Frankum of Brazoria; parents, Bobby and Wanda Frankum of Brazoria; son, Dale Frankum II and wife Nikkie of Brazoria; daughters, Janina Brady and husband Michael of Katy, Abigail Davis and husband Aaron of Brazoria; sister, Linda Bullard and husband Wayne of West Columbia; brothers, Randy Frankum and wife Rhonda of Brazoria, Kevin Frankum and wife Terri of West Columbia and Thomas Frankum and wife Stephanie of Jones Creek; grandchildren, Cambree Frankum, Brylee Frankum, Taelor Brady, Michael David Brady, Molly Kate Brady, Elizabeth Davis and Lara Davis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Jan Humphrey of West Columbia; sister-in-laws, Charlotte Day of Angleton, Dorthy Torno and husband Tim of Argyle, Texas, Nancy Stephen and husband Keith of West Columbia and  Georgeann Rhodes of Brazoria; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
