Funeral services for Clarence Brooks Jackson, 77, of Brazoria will be Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Church in Brazoria, TX. with Moderator, L.C. Dews, officiating and Rev. R.L. Thompson, Sr., eulogizing.  Burial will follow at Mims Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.

He passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at CHI St. Luke Health Brazosport Hospital in Lake Jackson, TX at 2:40 in the afternoon.

Brooks enjoyed taking care of horses, watching western movies, repairing water wells, mowing,  bailing hay,  piddling, and cooking.  He was a Deacon at Mt Pisgah Baptist Church.  Some of his greatest achievements were raising his family, being a model medical patient and living with dignity and love – always ready to lend a helping hand.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Jackson; mother, Lizzie Shelton Jackson; brothers, James Jackson, Lawrence James Anderson, R.H. “Hoppy” Jackson, Walter Leon Jackson, Sr., Alvaris Jackson, Sr. and C.D. Jackson; sisters, Senia Jackson, Josie M. Jackson Williams and Melinda Jackson Kyle.

Brooks is survived by his spouse, Theresa W. Jackson of Brazoria; sons, Derrick Jackson, Sr. (Tina) and Clarence “C” Jackson (Jackie), both of Brazoria and Jeffrey Jackson (Regina) of Manvel; daughters, Cheryl Williams of Angleton, Trina Mouton (John) of Fresno, Chenikka Woodard (Jeff) of Lake Jackson and selected daughter, Katie Brown of Pearland; sisters, Mayme Harris (Joe Louis) of Houston and Marie Diggs of Angleton; brothers, Robert Jackson (Catherine) and Emery Jackson (Jerline) both of McBeth, and Alex “Jap” Jackson (Helen) of Missouri City; best friends, grandson, Cayle Hurd, Sam Thomas, Alex and  Emery Jackson, Charles Brown, Robert Williams, Marvin Harris and Milton Cockrell; 17 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Corey Joseph, Bradley Harris, Jeffery Woodard, Jr., Cayle Hurd, Patrick Robinson, Jarius Kesee, Ty Griggs and Cameron Ward.  

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a wake service from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Dixon Funeral Home, 2025 E. Mulberry in Angleton, TX .  There will also be viewing at the church on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., prior to the service.  There will be no viewing afterward.
