Funeral services for Andrew Phillip Johnson, Sr. will be Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Brazoria with Pastor Darrell James officiating and Rev. Hollis Lemons eulogizing. Burial will follow at Jerusalem Cemetery in Brazoria, Texas.

He passed October 15, 2019, at the age of 93 years, at CHI St. Luke Hospital Brazosport Medical Center in Lake Jackson, Texas.

He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee until his health failed. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and was active in the military 1944-1946.

He retired from UTMB, Galveston, after 23 years of service as Supervisor of Environmental Services and 20 years of service as the Director of Environmental Services at Shriners Hospital, Galveston.

 He loved watching sports, rodeos, bull riding, religious television shows, and spending quality time with his family.  His favorite color was blue.  Those who knew and loved him will remember his wonderful and cheerful smile, joking, and kind gentle spirit. 

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, a loving and devoted wife of 36 years, B. Kay Johnson of Brazoria, TX; sons, Andrew P. Johnson, Jr. (Linda) of Garland, TX, Prince Phillip Johnson of Paramount, CA, and Dana A. Alderigi of Brazoria, TX; brothers, Napoleon Johnson of Brazoria, TX, and McKinley Johnson of Houston, TX; sister, Audrey Wright of Brazoria, TX; devoted nephews, James Wright (Lou Ella) of Brazoria, TX, David O’Neal, Jr. (Coretha) and Clifton O’Neal, Sr. (Charlotte) of Galveston, TX, and Philip O’Neal, Sr. (Sandra) of Texas City, TX; grandchildren, Trey Johnson, Drew Johnson (Shannon) and Patrick Appleton (Elise), all of Garland, TX; two great grandchildren, Zoey Appleton and Braxton Appleton of Garland, TX; devoted cousins, Mary Ann Williams and Lynn Smith of Angleton, TX, Eva Mae Holmes of Brazoria, TX, Mary “Sue” Price of Dallas, TX, and Rosemary Prince Townes of Richmond, CA; devoted best friends, Leroy Crear, Gilford Murphy, and Eliza Goode York; a dedicated friend, Joseph Moore, Jr.,  and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Prince Johnson, Trey Johnson, Drew Johnson, Brian O’ Neal, Clifton O’Neal Jr., Kenneth Davis and Kevin Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Johnson, Jr.,Dana Alderigi, Napoleon Johnson, Mckinley Johnson, Leroy Crear, Gilford Murphy, Corey Muse, Patrick Appleton, James Wright, David O'Neal, Jr., Phillip O'Neal, Sr., Clifton O'Neal, Sr. and Deacons and Trustees of Jerusalem Baptist Church.
