Ruby Jordan, 85, of Brazoria, TX passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024 at Chi St. Luke’s Brazosport in Lake Jackson, TX. She was born on November 24, 1938 in Noble, Louisiana to Phillip and Essie Mae Paddie. She attended school in Honey Island, TX where she met the love of her life, Kirby. They married in February 1955 and spent 69 years raising their family and sharing their lives camping, fishing, gardening, sewing, raising cattle and spending time with family.
In her younger life, Ruby helped create the Cub Scout Pack in Brazoria and was the first Den mother of Cub Scouts and Troop 503 Boy Scouts, was a member of Brazoria Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, American Red Cross, volunteered with Dow employee’s Fishing Club and Elder of Choctaw Apache Tribe of Ebarb, LA.
After obtaining her GED, she went back to school to become a nurse’s aide.
Once you met Ruby, you were part of her family. She was the rock and foundation for all her friends and family
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Howard Lewell Jordan, sister, Geraldine Green; grandson, Lewis Patrick Pullon; son-in-law, Lewis Harlon Pullon.
Ruby is survived by her husband Kirby of Brazoria, TX; sons, Garland Jordan (Carol) of Sweeny, TX, Allen Jordan (Kathy) and David Jordan (Tina) both of Brazoria, TX; daughter, Anita Pullon of Richwood, TX; sisters, Jean Paddie Graham of Jacksonville, NC, Betty Jo Larue of Zwolle, LA; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Brazoria on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. The funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with David Jordan officiating and Bro. Greg Smith eulogizing. Burial will follow at Colonial Cemetery in Brazoria.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
