Funeral services for Robert Lee Jordan, 76, of Missouri City will be Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Greater Mt Zion, 6437 FM 521, Brazoria, TX with Pastor Kenneth Stroman, Sr., of Christian Hope Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Fields Paradise Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.
He passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital in Sugar Land, TX.
Robert attended Charlie Brown High School in West Columbia where he graduated as valedictorian. He graduated from Prairie View with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was honorably discharged from the Army in September of 1967. Robert was a member of Christian Hope Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Trustee. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, tennis and golf.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Davis Jordan; father, Clyde Jordan; mother, Arie Fields and sister, Iva Nell Blair.
Robert is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Harrison of Missouri City; son, Jared O’Neal Jordan (Angela) of Missouri City; daughters, Sonya Jordan Braddock (Robert) of Bowie MD and Roslyn Jordan Manners (Charles) of Missouri City; sisters, Joyce Colquitt (Welton), Patricia Earl, Paula Wilson, Ruby Gonzales and Sherrell Jordan, all of Houston, Brenda Cridell (Jay), Karen Woodard (Dorell), Sharon Griggs (Elroy) of Brazoria; brothers, Marvin Jordan and Terrell Gonzales of Houston; brother-in-law, Hershley Blair, Jr. of Missouri City; best friends, Ralph Anderson (Donna) of Clearlake, Ned Robinson (Vassie) of Friendswood and Orange Stanfield of Houston; 21 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Chad Blair, Jason Blair, Orienthein Brown, Terrance Colquitt, Courtney Mays and Elroy S. Griggs.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Manners, Harry Davis, Sr., James Pickney Jr., Robert Braddock, Ralph Anderson and Marvin Jordan.
Visitation will be Friday, July 28, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home, 2025 E. Mulberry in Angleton, TX. There will also be viewing at the church on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. There will be no viewing afterward.
