Memorial services for Alice Marie King, 66, of Brazoria, Texas will be Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria, TX.
She was born in Cuero, Texas on January 10, 1946 and was Christened Alice Marie Schroeter. She passed away peacefully, as were her wishes, in her Wild Peach home on Friday, January 20, 2012.
Alice was a devoted homemaker. She raised two daughters and two sons. Her family and friends appreciated her chicken and dumplings, potato salad, and made from scratch luscious chocolate cake.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Anton Schroeter and Nellie Burt and her sister Katherine Elliott.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald King of 47 years; two daughters, Tammy Bennefield and husband Randy Bennefield of San Augustine, Texas and Jessica Brown and husband Stuart Brown of Thomaston, Texas; two sons, Marcus King and wife Cheryl Keith of Brazoria, Texas and Justin King and wife Danielle of Sweeny, Texas; eight grandchildren, Randy Bennefield (Jill), Lindsay Nichols (Dustin), Candice Williams, Brittany Williams, Krystalynn Brown, Lacey King, Kaelynn Brown and Emily King; five great grandchildren, Bethany Nichols, Alia Lewis, Jennifer Nichols, Dixie Bennefield, Corbin Williams and with two more on the way. Also left to cherish her memories are six sisters, Emma Fuller, Rose Elliott, Norma Dufrene, Sarah Ebrom, Annie Forehand, Naomi Darpino and seven brothers, George Schroeter, Alfred Schroeter, Vernon Burt, Fred Burt, James Burt, Odell Burt, Robert Burt and numerous nieces and nephews.
