Janice McVey Just, 80, of Brazoria passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Sweeny House. She was born July 10, 1929 to Burt and Jewel McVey in Madisonville, TX. She was a member of Brazoria Missionary Baptist Church and Actions of Brazoria. Janice owned Jan’s Grooming and Jan’s Knot Shop in Brazoria for many years. Her favorite hobbies were yard work, pet grooming, working with flowers, ceramics and macramé. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Janice is survived by husband, Raymond Just Sr. of Brazoria; son, Ronald Bailey of Goliad, TX; daughter, Dianne Bailey Shaw of Goliad, TX; stepsons, Daniel Just of Alvin, Raymond Allen Just Jr. of Friendswood; stepdaughters, Barbara Ann Ames and spouse Tom of Katy, TX, Karen Pettit of Houston, TX; sisters, Dorothy Lotte of Angleton, and Ruth Wakefield of Midway, TX; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers will be Shawn Reynolds, Smokey Reynolds, Thad Bailey, David Jordan, Steve Reynolds, and Richard McLaren. Family will receive friends on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Brazoria Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery.
